Memory Care Mural Project
Trico Living Well Retirement Community
Memory Care is not one size fits all. Every person has their own set of interests, experiences and passions that contribute to their identity. Incorporating this concept into the design of these memory care spaces results in an environment that is as wonderful and unique as each resident who lives here. Focusing on beauty, interactive elements, and supporting independence through wayfinding, these murals have transformed the 8th floor space.

This emergency exit is located in a common area on the 8th floor. For some individuals with dementia, exit seeking is a daily battle, especially when adjusting to a new living situation. Painting this exit allowed us to avoid some of those struggles, while keeping the door clear of obstacles and available in case of emergencies.
